Representing You In Your Administrative License Revocation Hearing

If you have been charged with a DWI in Texas, you have 15 days to save your driver’s license. If you do not schedule an administrative license revocation (ALR) hearing with the Department of Public Safety within that time frame, your license will be suspended. This suspension will occur regardless of what ends up happening with the criminal part of your DWI case.

At Daniel, Moore, Evans, Biggs & Decker, our attorneys have represented many clients in ALR hearings. We have an in-depth understanding of the issues that must be addressed in order to try to help you keep your license. We are an association of criminal defense lawyers, meaning that we have an experienced lawyer able to help you no matter how complex your DWI case may be. We know criminal law, and we know how to help in your time of need.

What To Know About ALR Hearings

Immediately after your DWI arrest, the clock starts on the 15 days that you have to request this hearing. Failing to submit your request on time means that your license will be suspended. Even if prosecutors decide not to bring charges against you, your license could still be suspended under the administrative process. If you must appear at an ALR hearing, you face the following consequences:

  • For a first-time offense you could lose your license for 90 days
  • If you have one conviction on your record you could lose your license for up to one year
  • If you have more than two prior DWI convictions, you could lose your license for up to two years

Our attorneys have a long track record of success in criminal defense and have helped many people in Texas keep their driver’s licenses. We know how the other side thinks and how they are preparing a case against you. This perspective allows us to provide our clients with intelligent and creative criminal defense solutions.
